Jarvis Gym – Your feedback is requested

On behalf of the Board, I am seeking your feedback on the gym.  The Board is exploring ways to make the gym more useful for owners and residents over the next few years.  If you either use the gym, or  would like to use the gym in the future, we would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Please provide your answers to the following questions:

If you use the gym:

(1) Which of the following equipment have you used at the gym (include all that apply):

(a) treadmills;

(b) stationary bike;

(c) universal weight machine (the big white machine in the middle of the room);

(d) dumb bells/free weights;

(e) bench press

(2) Of the equipment you marked in (1) above, which equipment do you use regularly or most often?
(Example, dumb bells and the treadmill)

(3) Is there any equipment that you would change, or equipment that the gym does not currently have, that would encourage you to use the gym more often? (Example, an elliptical machine/cross trainer or new clips for the barbells because the current ones are stiff)

(4) OPTIONAL: Approximately how often do you use the gym?

If you do NOT use the gym:

(1) Is there any equipment that you would change, or equipment that the gym does not currently have, that would encourage you to use the gym? (Example, an elliptical machine/cross trainer or new clips for the barbells because the current ones are stiff)

Feedback in the form of answers to the questions above is very helpful but I also welcome general comments. We also welcome your views on the amenities in the building in general – are there amenities that you would like to see in the building?

Please send your feedback to me at louisefmoher@gmail.com.

Thanks for your time,

Louise – 404

NEST control for Fan Coil Units?

Hello everybody…. it’s Don in 1204.

Does anyone have installed the NEST control unit for their  new HVAC System? I have mine installed but am wondering if you are experiencing a constant warm air from the vent even if set at “Auto” ??? Please let me know at don@192jarvis.com. I had to turn the control in the living room off due to this constant warm air coming out of the vent.

Thank you …
Don A.

Possible New Developments in the Area

According to a board member of the Garden District Residents Association, a developer has assembled all of the commercial properties on the southeast corner of Jarvis and Dundas Streets, and has made offers to the owners of the adjacent residential properties on George Street. Residents of 192 Jarvis have witnessed soil samples being taken in the laneway to the south of Tim Horton’s, which is one of the things required for a rezoning application. The Downtown East Planning Study has designated the land as appropriate for high rise development.

Also, Ryerson University is considering a partnership with a developer for the construction of a mixed use project on the parking lot at the northwest corner of Jarvis and Dundas Streets. Ryerson owns the property, but doesn’t have the funds to construct a building on the site. A mixed use development including a residential component would provide the funding for additional space for Ryerson.

Congratulations to Anthony & Dechen!

Proud parents Anthony and Dechen welcomed the newest member of their family (and newest resident of 192 Jarvis), Tenzing Kunden Gyaltsen, who was born January 13, 2013. Anthony reports that mother and baby are both at home and are doing very well. Proud father offered the following photo of their beautiful baby.
